Tangential Guest: Eric Herman, producer of Vieux Farka Touré's debut album and co-founder of Modiba Productions.
2007 is the year Vieux Farka Tour@eacute; recorded his debut recording and emerged as a possible musical heir to the late, legendary Malian "Desert Blues" guitarist Ali Farka Tour@eacute;. This 90+ minute Tangents show provides a rare insider's view into this historic passing of a musical torch from father to son. The story has surprising twists and turns explained by the album's young producer Eric Herman. The program includes excerpts from Vieux's debut including a father and son track which was one of Ali's final recorded songs.
